Car to be at auction 12/15
www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2015-11-28/car/ref-118-jaguar-mk-ii-saloon-% ...

Auction description:
Historics at Brooklands
288 - 1966 Jaguar Mk. II Saloon (3.4 litre, M/OD)
Registration HED 258E
Chassis Number 171351DN
Engine Number KJ10144-8
Odometer reading 86,580 miles
Estimate £7,000 - £10,000

Originally supplied from Henlys in London in Warwick grey, its colour changed in later years to Midnight Blue. From Henlys, it was distributed through Lookers of Warrington Ltd. who went on to sell the car to a Mr. E. Hart who took delivery in March, 1967. The original owner's service policy is still to be found within the history file. The current owner has used this iconic Jaguar since 1990 and has since fitted a stainless-steel exhaust, a new fuel pump and a Mota-Lita steering wheel. The MoT test certificate expires in October 2016 and, reassuringly, its health has been overseen by Jaguar specialist, Alan Collins of Maldon, Essex in recent years although some light re-commissioning is reported to be required for daily use. Representing enormous value, this 3.4 litre benefits from a manual (with overdrive) gearbox, a UK registration certificate and a 12 month MoT test certificate.

Car returned to auction 1/16
www.swva.co.uk/classic-car/jaguar-mk2-3-4-1967/

Auction description:
What a great car to drive. Manual with overdrive and 210 BHP under the bonnet. Finished in blue with red leather interior. Loads of history that goes back years. This car has been very well looked after and the last registered keeper owned it from 05-03-1990. the old MOTs and paper work indicate the mileage could be correct. We think this car is good value for money. Has had a new clutch, parts cost over £200 + labour.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
