www.cheffins.co.uk/vintage/carsmotorcycles/catalogues/2004/040611cars/details.as ...

Auction description:
1966 Jaguar 3.4 S-Type
Registration Number: JUD 106D
Chassis Number: 1B6167DN
Engine Number: 7B7014-8

This particular car is finished in Old English White with a red leather interior. Restoration three years ago included new inner and outer door skins, and a bare metal re-spray. At the same time the original leather was restored and the wood trim was refinished. In very good condition overall, the car is MOT'd until September 2004 and taxed until 31st October 2004. Paperwork included in the sale of the car includes a V5 registration document and the original buff logbook. Having covered just 300 miles since its last MOT the vendor describes the car as a super example.
Estimate: £7,000-£8,000
Result: £6100

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
