MoT Sep 2022
Chassis number: 1J2633BW
This later 240 incarnation of Jaguar's Mk2 sports saloon (which was known from September 1967 as the 240 and 340, depending on engine size) was registered in June 1968. It is finished in Midnight Blue with black trim and Coombe's style rear wheel covers. The odometer reads 19,217 miles and five former registered keepers are recorded, the third of whom had the car restored after buying it in 1978.
The vendor tells us that considerable expenditure has been spent in recent years keeping this 240 in good order, including the replacement of all front suspension bushes, ball joints, springs and shock absorbers. The front brakes have been upgraded to four‑pot calipers, the rear suspension has new tie bars, leaf spring rubbers, bushes and shock absorbers. Period correct Michelin tyres have been installed, as has a full stainless steel exhaust system, and there's also electronic ignition.
The history file contains a large amount of MoTs, invoices (including £7000 for new inner and outer sills, plus a recent secondhand automatic gearbox), new and old V5Cs, tax discs and sundry paperwork dating back over 30 years. There's also the owner's handbook, A bonus is a log of owners and history of the car's life, plus there are photos of body work done to the car. The recent MoT ‑ valid until September 2022 ‑ was passed with no advisories. A spare set of keys will also come with the car.
