According to the data plate, and JDH table, this is the last 1,5 litre Jaguar RHD ever produced.

The car has been modified from RHD to LHD.

The data plate is in the wrong location and the inspection cover over the steering box on the scuttle is missing.

Wow Mateusz! How do you keep finding these? :) Two MKIV's (1 1/2 Litre) made in 1949 I did not realize that. Sort of a shame that it has been converted, and the paint seems to be a fixation of some sort, BRG did not exist prior to 1951/1952 and was not offered on a MKIV, the only green back then was "Suede Green", then for MKV and XK120 you had also the "Pastel Green Metallic", but nice interior, the Rexine seems to be the same tone as "Pale Blue" later called "Light Blue". Cheers!

Thanks Pekka! I'm so keen on MKIV's, so adding every one and another is a pure pleasure for me:)

When it comes to the words 'last on 1949/2' on one of the pics it does not mean that just two MKIV's were produced that year. It means that the last one was produced in February 1949.

Cheers!

Ok I got it, thanks. So the last LHD ones were produced in December 1948 and the ratio is quite amazing, 5450 RHD and only 311 LHD cars made, but I think with 2 1/2 Litre and especially 3 1/2 Litre LHD export models were made in much bigger volumes. Cheers!

Dear Pekka,

according to Jaguar Heritage files, there were only (254) LHD 3.5 litre MKIV's saloons made and ONLY (75) 2.5 litre LHD MKIV saloons!!!

Cheers!

Hi, yes, I think the exact numbers are publicly available, I was only commenting as for DHC's they made ca. 400 LHD 3 1/2 Litre cars and only a bit more than 100 RHD cars. But for Saloons, yes with MKIV the home market was still by far the biggest, and for some odd reason they also sold RHD cars to Switzerland etc. But anyways, the MKIV was the first car they made as LHD at all, and this car was the last RHD one. :)

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
