Current bid $31,100 reserve not met, 21 bids, 3 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This is an extremely rare 1949 Jaguar MK5 drophead 3 position convertible with suicide doors.
This car is very original; matching numbers all the way -- absolutely rust free and was never in any collisions.
It is a right hand drive as you can tell by the pictures. Six cylinder, 4-speed manual with 71,885 miles.
Car has been in Arizona desert from the late 1960's and has a superb solid undercarriage.
It was repainted about 5 years ago with the original burgundy factory color, and the motor and brakes where completely gone through, including new rings and bearing on the engine carbs rebuilt.
The brakes were completely overhauled including brake cylinder and master cylinders.
The interior was completely redone 6 months ago with 7 full Connelly hides and full Wilton wool headliner with factory carpets installed. All of the wood received a new finish with prime lacquer.
The car looks excellent inside and out! She runs and drives well and all electricals were gone through as well, so all lights including the interior lights are working.
Car comes with most of its tools in the original tool trunk. It sits on four 16" Firestone white wall tires that have good tread but are not new and to give the best ride, you might want to change for radials.
I have spent lots of money on this car and will have to take a loss, but these are a very low production with strong collectible value, and have the same body as the Bentley MK Drophead and the Rolls Royce Silver Wraith Drophead.
This one has the beautiful 3 position drophead up halfway and all the way down.
