Classic Jaguar 420 Sport Limousine LHD
€9,840
Vehicle Description According to the Seller
ONE of only 2,629 left-hand drive JAGUAR 420s!

A rarity with an elegant appearance that absolutely must get back on the road!
I haven't been able to do that for the last three years due to health reasons.

The 420 was offered as a sports sedan to complement the legendary Jaguar E-Type.
One less carburetor, the compression slightly lowered, and the 265 hp of the E-Type became 246 in the 420.
Enough to achieve the legendary acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 8.2 seconds for a sedan!
You wouldn't find that in Germany. The Opel Diplomat couldn't even achieve these figures with the V8 engine of the Chevrolet Corvette!
1967:
Mercedes 280 SE. Opel Diplomat V8. JAGUAR 420
0-100 km/h 11.2 sec. approx. 11 sec. 8.2 sec. !!!
190 km/h. approx. 200 km/h. 198 km/h
240 Nm. Torque. 435. 384 !!!

The Jaguar also comes with disc brakes all around, power steering, genuine leather, real wood, and a sporty suspension as standard!!!

The engine oil and coolant have been changed. The engine runs well, the valves and carburetor should be adjusted.
I haven't found any obvious rust perforations.
The interior of the car needs to be thoroughly cleaned, and the carpet needs replacing.
The leather needs care; two seams need to be re-stitched.
The brakes need to be inspected; one caliper has been removed.
The trunk lock/chrome part needs to be replaced.
According to a master painter, the paint can be salvaged.

A stainless steel exhaust is installed.

All in all, a manageable effort to get this beautiful Jaguar back on the road.
According to Classic Data, the Jaguar is worth 26,700 in condition 2. 16,700 in condition 3, and 7,100 in condition 4.
I would see the car in condition 3-4.
SPARE PARTS for this beautiful car are easy to obtain.

Technical Data

Mileage 55,000 km

Transmission Automatic

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
