Car to be at auction 12/17
www.coys.co.uk/cars/1988-jaguar-c-type-by-proteus

Auction description:
ESTIMATE £65,000- £75,000
Auction True Greats 2017
Lot Number 108
Reg. Number UK Registered
Chassis Number 171018DN
Year 1988
Make Jaguar
Model C-Type by Proteus

The car we have here today is believed to be an early model dated to the late 1980's during Jim Marlands' directorship of Proteus. Originally delivered new to Germany the C-type has more recently been imported into the UK in 2015 by the present owner who has used the car for many long distance tours including Monaco, Pau, Le Mans, Goodwood and Silverstone. Recent work includes an overdrive overhaul, new springs, shock absorbers, wheels and tyres. There are several spare parts offered in the sale including a new gas flowed cylinder head. Built around an aluminium tub with aluminium doors and GRP bonnet, this lovely example on offer presented in the classic Jaguar colour of British Racing Green over green leather interior has an amazing patina that looks like it has just finished several fast laps of LeMans, few examples exude character like this. Sold with a current UK V5C registration document, the original German registration and importation papers and a valid MOT test certificate.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
