ENM 313D was supplied to the Met in August, 1966 through Henleys. It was originally white, but the current Opalescent Gunmetal is far more attractive, we think.

The car was restored in the late 1990s and the opportunity to improve it was taken at the same time. The car now benefits from electric power steering, a Harvey Bailey handling kit, Coopercraft brakes, alloy radiator, Kenlowe fan, stainless exhaust and modern stereo system.

The car also received, new discs, new master cylinders, new inner and outer sills, new front wings and a good waxoiling as well as a myriad items that make the car so appealing - did you spot the Coombs-style rear arches?

The engine fitted is a replacement item, as Jaguar engine specialist V.S.E. found a casting fault in the original during their rebuild and supplied an alternative unit. The car also received a new clutch and rebuilt carburettors. It has just passed a fresh MOT, which expires in October 2019 and shows no advisories.

A highly usable example, the car is not perfect and although very solid, could do with a light cosmetic lift here and there – primarily the rear seat and a visible line in the front offside wing where the replacement has been joined in. Once completed, the new owner will then be rewarded with a high spec car with an interesting history (if only it could talk!) and a concomitant increase in value.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
