Ebay item 1/6/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $2,650, no reserve, 18 bids 3 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Reluctantly selling my 1967 JAGUAR 420G that was flooded in my driveway during Sandy's high tide here in Belle Harbor NY. Over the last year I had invested aprox. $7k in mechanical repairs. I show the most recent repair bill. This Jag started every time and ran well and reliably until the storm. It has an actual 83175 miles on the odometer.
IT IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING.
This is a very solid automobile with perfectly straight body panels. NO RUST THROUGH EVER that I can find ANYWHERE on the body! The rockers and pans are amazingly good and the undersides of the doors are perfect. The carpeting is original and still has no wear at the drivers heel. This 420G comes with sunroof and FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING (Factory trunk unit).
All trim is there, including the hubcaps and are in very good condition. No damaged glass or lenses. Bumpers are free of dings, and have just about perfect chrome..
The car needs a COMPLETE REPAINT since the old black English black lacquer finish was already "spidering" and beginning to peel before the storm!
The rust you see on the hood, roof, and trunk lid are all minor and are only superficial on the surface and these places have been temporarily sprayed with rust inhibitor.
Amazingly the wood trim in the car remains excellent as the images show. Not a hint of any peeling anywhere and most surfaces including the rear picnic tables are extraordinary!
The trunk floor lining is dirty but not worn or holed and should clean up well. The trunk lid is missing one flat cardboard panel. I took the sun visors off to re-cover them, and they are complete and come with the car.
The two open seams shown on the drivers seat were the damage to what was a great interior.
There is nothing missing to my knowledge except for the chrome center pieces for the windshield and rear light, which I had, but now cannot locate, so unless I come up with them you should assume they are missing. I have two original factory sets of keys.

INSPECTION IS BEFORE THE END OF THE AUCTION

The car is in Belle Harbor NY 11694

I have located the missing chrome plated brass center clips for the windshield and the rear light. Still trying to locate the two Jaguar 420G factory repair manuals that were removed from the trunk to dry out! Might add that I also had the valves adjusted and the SUs tuned and some other work done within the last 24 months with almost no mileage accumulated during this period.

The "VIN" for those interested:

Engine no. 7D57535 9
Trans no. 24792
Body no. 4D57417

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
